Why did you choose Barry?
I chose Barry because of the endless opportunities and supportive community. From simply connecting with people on campus, I was able to find exciting projects to work on, leadership opportunities, and even a job opportunity in my freshman year. I really value how easy it is to get involved, grow professionally, and build meaningful connections here.
Why am I a student ambassador?
I want to be a Student Ambassador because I genuinely enjoy helping people feel welcomed, informed, and confident in their decisions. As someone heavily involved in leadership, advocacy, and community engagement, I love connecting with others and creating positive experiences. I also want prospective students to see the supportive and opportunity-filled environment that made me choose Barry.
Tips for someone searching for the right college?
My biggest advice is to look beyond rankings and focus on where you feel supported and see opportunities for growth. Talk to current students, explore clubs and leadership opportunities, and ask yourself if you can truly picture yourself growing there both personally and professionally. The right college should feel like a place where you can challenge yourself while still feeling comfortable and included.
Service opportunity that you've participated in?
Back home, community service was a major part of my everyday life. I served as a United Nations Children's Fund(UNICEF) Youth Representative for one of the six regions in Belarus, where I participated in nationwide youth initiatives, advocacy projects, and international forums focused on education, social inclusion, and youth development. I also launched social projects through a youth health resource center, organized events across schools and community organizations, supported refugee families, and helped establish a volunteer office at a children’s clinic. Through these experiences, I worked closely with students, families, and vulnerable communities while promoting leadership, human rights, and access to opportunities.
What are your future plans?
In the future, I hope to either build my own startup focused on finance and technology or work in equity research and investment analysis. I’m especially interested in combining finance, AI, and strategic decision-making to create innovative solutions and long-term impact.
