Biography

Daniela is an interdisciplinary artist and educator with a background in ceramics, design, and studio management. Her creative work is informed by a deep appreciation for the natural world and a commitment to sustainability, which shape both her lifestyle and studio practice. Drawing inspiration from organic forms and ecological systems, she brings a thoughtful, environmentally conscious approach to artistic problem-solving and arts education.

Daniela currently works as the Ceramics Studio Manager at her alma mater Barry University, where she oversees daily studio operations and maintains a safe, functional, and efficient learning environment. She earned her B.A. in Art History and Graphic Design and has previously held leadership roles as Ceramics Studio Coordinator at the University of Oregon and Ceramics Studio Department Head at Camp Laurel in Maine. Across these positions, she has managed facilities, trained and mentored staff and student employees, and developed engaging curricula covering the full ceramics process—from wheel throwing and sculpting to glazing, kiln firing, and equipment maintenance. Her studio practice emphasizes sustainable methods, including mindful material use, responsible firing practices, and long-term care of tools and resources.

In addition to her ceramics expertise, Daniela has professional experience in graphic design and museum education, strengthening her ability to communicate visually and engage diverse audiences. Across all roles, she is known for her collaborative leadership, attention to detail, and dedication to sustainable studio practices. Outside the studio, Daniela finds continued inspiration in nature and shares her home with her multi-generational family and cat, Freya.
