Biography
Dialis Burke Wheeler is a doctoral candidate (ABD) in Marriage and Family Therapy at Barry University, where she also earned her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling. She is a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor Qualified Supervisor (LMHC-QS), Marriage and Family Therapist Qualified Supervisor (MFT-QS), and National Certified Counselor (NCC), with additional certifications in EMDR therapy and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT). Her areas of expertise include traumainformed care, grief and loss, integrating religion and mental health within African American communities, and clinical supervision of counselors-in-training. She serves as an Adjunct Professor and Clinical Supervisor at Barry University, teaching courses such as Counseling Practicum, Clinical Mental Health Counseling Internship, Marriage and Family Therapy Internship, Group Counseling, and School Counseling Internship.
